4 of The Best Restaurants in Costa Rica

4 OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN COSTA RICA

Whether you just like to eat, or you consider yourself a “foodie,” everyone wants to know where the best restaurants in Costa Rica are. Well, we’ve got you covered! Luckily for you, we love to eat, and trying new food is one of our favorite past times. Here are a few of our go-to restaurants.

Graffiti Restro Café & Wine Bar

If you’re looking for a restaurant with class, look no further. The plating presentation is exquisite, and the ambiance is a mix of hip and classy. A restaurant with a healthy selection of adult beverages is a must for us, and Graffiti does not disappoint. Not only do they have a plenty of wine and beer to choose from, but they also have their own craft cocktails. The Afternoon Delight, Espresso Martini, and Pineapple and Cinnamon Mojito are must tries!

The cacao and coffee-rubbed beef tenderloin is a must, and the flavor profile will have your taste buds doing a happy dance. Even better, the blackboard changes daily with freshly caught seafood dishes. This means you can eat here every day and still never have the same meal twice. The only problem is, everything is so well prepared that you will be tempted to stay with the same dish every time!

Tacobar Jaco

When considering the best restaurant in Costa Rica, this should definitely be on your list. The main reason for this is that there is a massive potential for an almost endless variety of ways to eat your meals. Tacobar not only has a huge variety of fresh seafood delivered daily, but it has a massive salad bar.

If you’re like me, you’re thinking “why should I care about salad?” It is the perfect way to make each and every bite of your tacos different from the last! Considering that this is a make your own taco kind of place, having a huge variety at the salad bar is the best way to make it an incredible experience.

The dining style may be a little different from what you’re used to, but that only adds to its charm. This is a great place to grab a quick bite before going out on a crocodile tour or before horseback riding!

Caliche’s Wishbone Restaurant

Caliche’s is one of the best restaurants in Costa Rica for those searching for a more traditional Spanish-style eatery. The Spanish-style doors and quaint wooden tables have you feeling like you’re stepping back into an easier time. The food, however, is as progressive and delicious as it gets.

Caliche’s offers a more traditional style of plating, but the flavor profile is out to get your attention. Like most of our other favorites, the food is insanely fresh tasting, and the seafood is locally caught and delivered daily. This is especially apparent in our favorite menu item, the tuna poke. The tuna tastes like it came out of the ocean minutes before ending up on your plate, and the avocado is perfectly timed for maximum ripeness when it touches your plate.

Los Amigos Jaco

We love Los Amigos for many reasons, but if we had to pick one, it would be their stellar happy hour. Unlike the others on our list, this is a place we go for burgers and drinks instead of local Costa Rican style cuisine. The best time to go is during their 5-7pm happy hour because the drinks and burgers become so affordable that you have to order more than probably should!

This is a great place to get your burger and fries (or onion rings) fix if you’re feeling especially homesick. Even if you don’t go during happy hour, everything is very well priced and worth every bit you pay. We don’t want to mislead you though, they also have an awesome fresh seafood selection as well (we love our seafood in Costa Rica!)

One of the best things about Los Amigos Jaco is that they have a crisp air conditioning system and tons of TV’s. While we don’t consider it strictly a sports bar, there is plenty of opportunity for the soccer fan to keep up with their teams or to watch some local news as well. And while we go for the affordable beer and burgers, we stay for the laid-back atmosphere.
