Why Costa Rica Is the King of Spring Break

Going somewhere fun and exciting is exactly what every college student needs to do during their Spring Break to recharge their batteries. Honestly, a week isn’t enough to fully recuperate from the stress of midterms, but you owe it to yourself to make the most out of your time off.

We suggest getting out of the same routine, getting out of the same area, and coming to a new and exciting country.

The Experiences

Spring Break is all about going out and having a great time. Lucky for you there is no shortage of places to go and things to do here in Costa Rica.

If you want to party like it’s going out of style, the bars and nightclubs are full of energy from open to close! There are many new bars and nightclubs for you to choose from in each new town.

In fact, if you’re looking to start the party early and keep it going till late, you should check out the town of Jacó. Jacó has everything you could ever want in a city, from light activities like shopping and several restaurants to a thriving party scene.

This city will offer you bars that are open day and night, as well as some seriously rowdy nightclubs. When you’re in town, try checking out Swell Bar, Beatle Bar, or Monkey Bar to get you started and just go with the flow after that!

The Food

If you like to taste the cuisine of new countries, you’ll have to try the national dish, Gallo Pinto. This is the typical breakfast here in Costa Rica.

Gallo Pinto consists of rice and beans mixed together, scrambled or fried eggs, chopped beef, fried plantains, and tortillas. A general custom is to pour Salsa Lizano (a Costa Rican Salsa) all over it!

You could go to a different restaurant every day and try their Gallo Pinto, and each one will do it just a little different than the last. Even if the dish is served the same way everywhere, they all put their own little spin on it, making it a new experience every morning.

Don’t worry that isn’t the only dish we’re known for, but you have to come find out what to try next in person!

The Adventures

Why would anyone go to the beautiful jungle and beaches of Costa Rica and not fully experience them? Well, too many people leave out this part of the trip because they don’t know what we offer.

Not you, though! We’ve got the lowdown on some great excursions; first, we suggest the “El Encanto” Waterfall Canopy Zipline Tour. The true adventurers won’t want to miss this!

There is a short hike surrounded by wildlife, the you’ll ride eight ziplines while taking in beautiful waterfalls, and be greeted at the end of your final 60-second zipline trip with juice and fresh fruit. Plus, we have dual wires and an auto braking system to keep you 100% safe!

Sounds like too much work? We have several other more leisurely trips as well…but why not just go for it with our Crocodile Tour?!

We will take you on the Tárcoles River, which just happens to be one of the most densely populated crocodile rivers in the world. You’ll ride a riverboat with up to 45 other adventurers, taking in the sites and spotting monkeys, herons, scarlet macaws and more wildlife than we have time to list!

What is the best part about these tours? Remember the party town Jacó? They both just happen to be in its backyard which means you can get a serious amount of bang for your buck when you head here.

The Lifestyle

Costa Rica, as you may have heard, has become a very popular destination for travelers worldwide because of the Pura Vida lifestyle. The translation into English is straightforward, it means “pure life,” but what it means to us Costa Ricans transcends words.

Pura Vida isn’t just a saying; it’s much more than that. It’s living life to the fullest each day, experiencing new things, approaching every day with optimism, and so much more that can only be understood by feeling it.

We can guarantee you this, though, once you truly experience the lifestyle you’ll never want to leave Costa Rica. Coming back here every Spring Break just won’t be enough for you anymore once you fully embrace the lifestyle.

When people ask where you’ve traveled in your life, you’ll get to tell them about all the incredible adventures you had in Costa Rica.
