It can be difficult to plan a family vacation when everyone has different ideas of what they want to do or what they consider to be fun. This becomes even more challenging when your kids are different ages or genders. While some may want to hit the beach others want to ride rollercoasters. Instead of fighting over destinations and activities, book a trip that will make everyone smile!
One way to help your family get along is to engage in activities. When kids are bored, they tend to complain and argue more. While beach vacations may be relaxing, if you spend every day at the beach someone is bound to get a little stir crazy. Fortunately, in Costa Rica you can have it both ways. You can spend a few days relaxing by the ocean and the rest of your time having adventures.
Our family adventure vacations are a perfect break from relaxation because they will get your heart pumping and your family actively having fun together. All of our activities are contained on the ranch so that everyone can take a turn at selecting what to do next without travel arrangements needing to be made or a new itinerary scheduled. At Ocean Ranch Park, we offer activities that are designed to be exhilarating, but can still work for multiple generations. For example, we have a zip line that can take you across the valleys, canyons and rivers. There are ten platforms that are part of the zip line, providing multiple places to stop and enjoy the view. This adventure is perfect for adrenaline junkies but the younger and older generations both like it because you don’t have to exert a ton of energy hiking, and it is a low impact activity.
Another multigenerational activity we offer is horseback riding. This is a fun way to see the area because a horse can go where the car simply can’t. You can view wildlife and experience the sounds and smells of nature while feeling like you have been transported back in time. Parents will enjoy how riding a horse can make them feel young again while many children are riding a horse for the very first time. This is one way that our family adventure vacations can bring the generations together.
If you want more adventure you can also ride ATVs, go on hikes, and waterfall rappel. This is in addition to experiencing the beauty of Costa Rica and our rich wildlife. When coming to a country like this, you don’t want to spend too much time indoors or relaxing on the beach. There is much adventure to be had for those that are willing to step outside of their comfort zone and have a great time!
